Lowry Development, Inc. was founded in 1991 by Millard Lowry, Jr. as a full service real estate develpment, brokerage and consulting company. Mr. Lowry has over fifty years of real estate and financial experience. He is an Atlanta native with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, majoring in Real Estate/Finance, from Georgia State University.
Mr. Lowry was the Real Estate Manager for the Atlanta Division of The Kroger Co. from 1974 to 1982. During this time the Atlanta Division went from an extremely unprofitable operation, ranked last in share of market, to the most profitable Kroger Division, ranked first in share of market. Mr. Lowry was promoted to Director of Real Estate and moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1982. During the next six years he supervised various regional real estate offices covering twenty-three states. His duties included a broad range of real estate activities including corporate planning, financial analysis, site selection, land acquisition and lease negotiations. In addition, he supervised a program resulting in the development of fifteen shopping centers, ranging in size from 53,000 to 131,000 square feet.
During Mr. Lowry's Kroger career he also served as the President of Atlanta Kemba Credit Union from 1974 to 1982, and Director of Cincinnati Kemba Credit Union from 1983 to 1986.
Mr. Lowry returned to Atlanta in 1989 and has since been actively involved in real estate. Lowry Development has developed numerous shopping centers in the Southeastern United States. It has also developed properties for The Kroger Co. and Albertson's through consulting contracts. A number of other real estate developers have used the expertise of Lowry Development to obtain grocery store commitments for their shopping centers.
Lowry Development has also been active in commercial outlot brokerage. It has produced twelve locations for O'Charley's restaurants in the Atlanta area and eighteen locations in three states for national drugstore chains such as Rite-Aid, CVS, and Eckerd.
